The APBX 8 R enclosure has been developed with a reflex (ported) design, specifically tuned to focus the SPL (sound pressure level) in the lower frequency range. The goal was to take advantage of the natural boost in output commonly found in most vehicles below 60 Hz, known as cabin gain.
The 8-inch subwoofer, featuring a 4-ohm voice coil, is equipped with a powerful motor that optimizes efficiency when paired with the AP8.9 bit amplifier. The subwoofer’s low resonance frequency, well-matched to the reflex enclosure, keeps cone excursion minimal across the entire audio spectrum. This design also enables compatibility with a pair of bridged channels from the AP4.9 bit or AP4 D amplifiers, which are capable of delivering 260 W RMS.
